About me

Mother & Runner with Heart.

Where to start? I’m Mary & I currently live in the NY/NJ Metro area with my family, commuting into good ole NYC for work and always running around either for fun or with my 3 kids. My running & racing journey started in September of 2010, I toed the line for the 5th Avenue Mile, an iconic race where everyone from Olympians to amateurs line up to race down 5th Avenue. I finished in a 8:08, not having run in 8 years. After finishing, I stood at the finish line for hours and watched as the elite’s raced down 5th avenue, it was amazing to watch. I was hooked. Since that day I’ve run 3 marathons, two of which were NYC, over 20 Half Marathons, 3 10K’s, 3 10 Milers, 3 1 Milers and over 30 5K’s. Surprisingly, my favorite distance to race is the 5K, the perfect balance of speed with a splash of endurance for the 2nd half to go all out.

Over the years, I have perpetually kicked around starting a blog and did in 2014 after my son was born. There were still very few running blogs about pregnancy and running, slightly more than in 2011 after my first, but still scarce. I hit a few road bumps and never ended up completing it. Fast forward to today, 5 children later and while pregnant with my 4th and 5th child – yes twins I finally looked into starting a blog/ website again. I thought, now, it’s blaringly clear, is the time. There are NO blogs about running pregnant with twins and even fewer about balancing a family and with that I decided to help others and start a blog about all things running as a mother!
